How we work

Editorial policy

PiBrief publishes short, sourced news briefings: free Editor's Choice newsletters on a fixed topic, and personalized briefs built around each reader's own interests. This page explains how those briefings are put together, where AI is involved, and what to do if we get something wrong.

What we cover

Each Editor's Choice newsletter has a defined scope that our editorial team sets and maintains: the topics and sections it covers, the regions it follows, and the kind of stories that belong in it. Personalized briefs follow the topics and instructions their reader chooses.

How AI is used

We use large language models to search recent reporting, rank stories by relevance to the newsletter's scope, and write each summary and its “why it matters” analysis. The audio briefing that comes with every edition is narrated by AI-generated voices. We say so plainly because readers should know how their news is produced.

For Editor's Choice newsletters, our editors define the scope and can edit, reorder, or remove stories before an edition is sent.

Sources and citations

Every story is grounded in published reporting and links to the sources it draws on, so you can read the original coverage. We summarize and add context; we do not republish articles. Citations are attached automatically and, like any AI output, can be imperfect, which is why we link to them rather than ask you to take our word for it.

Independence

Stories are selected for relevance to each newsletter's scope. We do not accept payment to include, exclude, or rank a story, and any sponsored content would be clearly labelled as such.

Corrections

If you spot an error, a misattributed quote, or a summary that misrepresents its source, email us at support@pibrief.com with a link to the edition. We review every report, and confirmed mistakes shape how we select and summarize stories in the editions that follow.

Limits

PiBrief is for staying informed, not for professional advice. See section 6 of our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer on AI-generated content.
