Terms of Service
Last updated: April 29, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and PiBrief (“PiBrief,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your access to and use of the PiBrief website, AI-powered personalized newsletter service, and any related products (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, clicking “I agree,” or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please read Section 6 (AI-Generated Content) and Section 12 (Limitation of Liability) carefully. They limit our liability and shift important risks to you.
1. Eligibility and account registration
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
Authentication is provided by Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@pibrief.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
2. The Service
PiBrief is an AI-powered service that compiles personalized newsletter editions, including written summaries and optional audio briefings, based on the topics, sources, schedule, and preferences you configure. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. We may also place reasonable usage limits on the Service to ensure availability for all users.
3. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
- Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right, or to engage in fraud, harassment, or hate speech.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape at scale, or otherwise extract source code or model behavior from the Service.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service, our infrastructure, or any provider we rely on (including attempts to bypass rate limits or authentication).
- Use automated means to access the Service except through features we expressly provide.
- Use the Service to generate, store, or distribute malware, phishing content, sexual content involving minors, or content that infringes intellectual-property rights.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute Service output without our prior written consent, beyond the personal use described in Section 5.
4. Subscriptions, fees, and billing
Some features of the Service are offered on a paid subscription basis. Pricing is published on our pricing page and may change with notice. Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically for successive periods until you cancel.
You may cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period; you retain access until that date. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. Taxes may apply based on your location.
By providing a payment method, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge that method for the applicable fees. If a payment fails, we may suspend or terminate paid features.
5. Intellectual property and license
The Service, including software, design, branding, and original editorial content, is owned by PiBrief and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service and to use the newsletters delivered to you for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
Source articles, third-party content, images, and citations referenced in your newsletters remain the property of their respective owners and are subject to their own terms and copyright.
6. AI-generated content – important disclaimer
The Service generates content using third-party large language models and AI systems. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or fabricated. While we make commercially reasonable efforts to ground briefings in cited sources, citations are produced programmatically and are not guaranteed to be correct, complete, or current. The Service may also misattribute quotes, mis-summarize source material, or surface propaganda-style content.
You must independently verify any material claim before acting on it. The Service is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only and is not professional advice. Do not rely on the Service for medical, legal, financial, tax, investment, employment, safety-of-life, or other consequential decisions. You are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on Service output.
You acknowledge that AI providers we rely on (currently including Google Gemini, Perplexity, xAI Grok, and ElevenLabs) may evolve, become unavailable, or change their behavior, and that this may affect the quality, format, or availability of the Service.
7. Your content and feedback
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (such as topic descriptions or feedback). You grant PiBrief a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit to subprocessors, and display that content solely as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to comply with law. Feedback you provide may be used by us without restriction.
8. Third-party services and links
The Service integrates with third-party providers (including Clerk, Stripe, Google Cloud Platform, MongoDB Atlas, Google Gemini, Perplexity, xAI Grok, ElevenLabs, SendGrid, and SMTP providers) and may link to third-party websites and source articles. We are not responsible for those third parties or their content, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
9. Privacy and consent metadata
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. When you accept these Terms or our Privacy Policy, we record the date and time of acceptance, your IP address, your user-agent, and the approximate location derived from your IP address as described in the Privacy Policy. By accepting these Terms, you consent to that recording.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, exposed PiBrief or other users to legal or operational risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 15) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and absence of errors, viruses, or harmful components. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your purpose.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will PiBrief, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, whether based on contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid PiBrief in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PiBrief and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms or applicable law, (c) any content you submit, or (d) actions or decisions you take based on Service output.
14. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute that is not required to be resolved by binding arbitration. Where applicable consumer-protection law grants you mandatory rights that cannot be waived, those rights remain in effect.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional policies referenced in the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and PiBrief regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a corporate transaction.
